Key responsibilities
Develop responsive web interfaces with React and support mobile application development with React Native
Build and integrate REST APIs and backend services using Node.js and Express
Work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB to model, query and manage application data
Support real-time application features using WebSocket and MQTT messaging
Contribute to microservices and service integrations in collaboration with the engineering team
Assist with Docker containerisation, DevOps workflows and application deployment in Linux environments
Investigate application and connectivity issues using Linux commands, networking fundamentals and debugging tools
Test features, participate in code reviews, manage changes with Git and maintain technical documentation
Skills & qualifications
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, with familiarity with React and React Native
Basic understanding of Node.js, Express and REST API development
Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB and fundamental database concepts
Awareness of WebSocket, MQTT and real-time communication patterns
Basic understanding of microservices, networking fundamentals and Linux commands
Exposure to Docker and DevOps practices, including build and deployment workflows
Familiarity with Git and systematic debugging, supported by academic, personal or portfolio projects
Clear communication, attention to detail and a willingness to learn through feedback
